Veterans Day at Briggs

On November 11th at apporximately 1:15 pm Briggs School launched Operation Thank You.  Over 50 veterans and active servicemembers were in attendance.  Our 3rd and 4th grade students sang songs and service club members read a heartfelt poem and gave a touching speech.  Guest speaker, Dr. Virgil Carter, brought items from WWII for students to see.  Principal George Ritzhaupt, a veteran himself, talked about the sacrifice and meaning of service to our country. On Veterans Day and everyday we thank each person who gave so selflessly to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.  Briggs School salutes our veterans and active military!!! THANK YOU for your courage.
