4th-8th graders, there will be a robotics meeting Wednesday, August 28th at 4:00 in Mrs. Davenport's room. If you are interested in joining robotics, please attend this meeting.
4-H meeting Monday and Wednesday at 3:30 in Mrs. Childs' room.
Cheer practice Monday and Tuesday. Mini cheer clinic sign up forms are due by Thursday, August 29th.
The 5th/6th grade Braves football team opened the season with a 14-0 victory at Rocky Mtn. Thursday night. Joshua Meigs scored the first touchdown of the season with a nice run, followed by a two point conversion from Logan Ryals. Si Smith added a 55 yard interception return for a touchdown to close out the scoring. Great defensive effort by Knox Smith, Lane Pence, and Jasper Birdtail.
The 7th/8th grade Braves beat Rocky Mtn. 20-0, for their first win of the season. Layne Morgan threw three touchdown passes, 2 to Jevan Dick and one to Gavyn Walker. Great blocking from Rickey Deckard, Logan Dreadfulwater, Brenden Holden and HighEagle Pratt. The Rose twins added great place on defense, and stellar play by Aiden and Gavyn Walker on defense.
5th/6th softball Monday & Tuesday in the Maryetta Festival. Monday Briggs will play Westville at 12:00 and Maryetta at 2:00. Tuesday Briggs will play Zion at 1:00.
7th/8th softball Wednesday and Friday in the Maryetta Tournament. On Wednesday, Briggs will play Dahlonegah at 9:00, Westville at 11:00, and Maryetta at 2:00. Depending on how they do on Wednesday will determine what time they play on Friday.
7th/8th softball Thursday in the Locust Grove Tournament.
Football on Thursday, August 29th at Maryetta. 5th/6th will play at 6:00 and the 7th/8th will follow that game.
The cooperative challenge for this week is to: Use Active Listening
4-H meeting Wednesday (8/21) at 3:30 in Mrs. Childs's room. If you are interested in joining 4-H please plan on staying for this meeting. Go to after school and you will be called to the meeting.
5th-8th graders interested in running for Student Council are reminded that all packets are due to Mrs. Dillard by Thursday at 2:00. If you are interested in running for an office, please pick up a packet from Mrs. Dillard.

Thought for the week: Everyone try to make it a goal each day to show at least one random act of kindness to someone (ex: just smile at someone, give a friendly greeting, hold the door for someone, help someone find their classroom, etc).
